Sourdough Crackers

Writer: TrustTheProcessSisTrustTheProcessSis

When I started to make my own sourdough at home (which I will soon teach you ladies), I started experimenting a lot and doing a lot of research on ways I can use it. I didn’t only want to master making baguettes and loaves of bread, I wanted to branch out more.

This recipe is one of my favourites as it has so much flavour, it’s healthy, quick to make, and you can make as much as you want depending on the amount of sourdough you have.

I saw a few recipes on how to make these crackers but decided to bring a twist to it and make my own, because why not?!

This recipe will save you lots of money if you have children; What better way to give them a healthy snack than to buy store bought snacks with ingredients that could affect their little bodies in the long run?

I always remind y’all that sourdough is good for the gut, so if you can, transition as soon as possible and bless your families.

Ingredients :

•3/4 cup of sourdough or sourdough discard

•2 tablespoons of butter or cooking oil (as a replacement if you don’t have butter)

•Some salt

•2 tablespoons or more of herbs of choice

Instructions :

1.Preheat oven at 325F (162C) and line baking sheet with parchment paper. Melt butter and let it sit in a bowl to cool

2.Add the sourdough into the bowl with butter inside already, add your salt and dried herbs. Mix thoroughly until it’s well combined.

3.Spread the mixture into the baking sheet and use a spatula to help spread mixture into an even layer. You can sprinkle extra salt on top if you want to !

4.Bake for 10 minutes, remove from oven and start shaping your crackers. Bake for an additional 20 or more minutes until it is golden or cooked to your own choice (Please check often to avoid burnt crackers).

5.Once completed, remove from oven and let it cook down before you start breaking apart the crackers.

Enjoy !
